Mark Stawman Piano

I am an experienced and dedicated piano teacher who offers face-to-face and online piano lessons to students of all ages and levels.

I have had great success teaching both children and adults and firmly believe that it’s never too late to learn.

Many of my students, particularly children and retired adults, have made tremendous progress and are either playing for pleasure or preparing for ABRSM exams

These exams provide students with a specific goal and the motivation to excel. Over the years I have successfully guided countless students through the ABRSM Practical and Performance Grades with excellent results.

Beginner online piano course
Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

Personalised recorded piano lessons using an asynchronous, highly effective, focused approach.

This method benefits students who cannot commit to a fixed weekly schedule and has become increasingly popular among my students.

This format also benefits students preparing for the ABRSM Performance Grade exams as it allows them to regularly record their programme, giving them the experience needed for when they do the actual exam.

In addition, students can watch their tailored piano lesson video several times weekly and complete the assigned tasks at a time that suits them.

Asynchronous piano lessons

I strive to offer all my students a unique learning experience.

To achieve this, I utilise state-of-the-art equipment including two 4K cameras, one HD camera, a professional microphone, and screen-sharing technology.

Through clear and concise instructions, I ensure that every student maximises their full potential to achieve their musical goals.

LudWig VAn Beethoven:
"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy."

Originally from North Yorkshire in the UK, I embarked on my piano journey at the age of 7.
Initially self-taught, I had my first formal piano lesson at the age of 14. By the time I turned 17, I had relocated to Leeds, UK, where I pursued studies at the Leeds Conservatoire of Music, ultimately earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music.
During my time at the conservatoire, I received numerous awards for piano performance and gave multiple recitals as a professional pianist.
Following the completion of my undergraduate studies, I furthered my education at the University of Leeds, obtaining a Master’s degree in Music Performance.
At the young age of 21, I founded my own piano studio, where I worked as a piano tutor and professional accompanist.
In 2017, I moved to Spain, continuing my career as an in-demand piano teacher. Even after my relocation, I maintained a strong connection with my students in the UK, who opted for online piano lessons with me. This support allowed me to expand my busy face-to-face and online piano studio, while also developing my successful online piano course.
Mark Stawman piano teacher

”Mark is an enthusiastic, kind, and supportive piano teacher who we feel really fortunate to have discovered for our two young children. Our daughter (8) has been studying with Mark for three years and we have been delighted by her progress and recent high merit in Grade 1.

Our son (6) also enjoys his lessons as Mark relates to children incredibly well, while also being an extremely talented and committed musician who encourages his students to progress.

Both children look forward to their lessons at Mark’s house and through his professional approach and experience he has made a major contribution to their love and understanding of music. We highly recommend Mark."

“I have had experience with several piano teachers, and can confidently say that Mark is the best piano teacher I have met. He teaches my 7 year old son who is making very rapid progress.

He is friendly, very professional, and has a lovely manner with children. I would recommend him to anyone.”
"Great teacher and an excellent person. I recommend him for anyone who wants to learn the piano, regardless of their level."
“Mark is an outstanding piano teacher. He teaches my two grandsons (age 9 and 8) and is inspirational in the way he motivates and encourages them.

He sets, and achieves, high standards for technique and performance (a high distinction in Grade 1 recently, for one of them, in his first experience of ABRSM exams), but piano lessons and music making are always fun, and practising between lessons is never a chore.

He has a great rapport with children (and with grandmas too!) and has been an important influence in fostering the boys’ love and understanding of music.

I would recommend him without hesitation.”
