3 Essential Tips for Correct Piano Posture
How to Achieve the Ideal Posture When Playing the Piano
Here are a few essential tips to ensure you have the ideal seat height and best posture for playing the piano:
Maintain a Straight Back: Sit up straight with your back aligned to maintain proper posture. Avoid slouching or leaning too far forward, as this can cause strain and affect your playing technique.
Correct Seat Height: Adjust your seat so that the tip of your elbow is level with the white keys. This helps create a straight line from the tip of the elbow through the forearm, wrist, and back of the hand, allowing for comfortable and efficient movement.
Optimal Distance from the Piano: Sit at a distance where, with your arms stretched out, you can easily reach the fallboard (the wooden panel above the keys). This ensures you can comfortably access both the white and black keys while maintaining a relaxed and natural posture.
